Yeats and Christ By D.M. Webb (Daphne Self) One of the most beautiful poems I have ever read was "Cloths of Heaven" by W.B. Yeats. A portion of it reads: “But, I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.” In my devotional 30 Days: A Devotional Memoir , I talked about how we all have dreams and sometimes it was only our dreams that kept us company. Every once in a while we offer dreams to someone and we lay them down at their feet. Our wish is for them to tread carefully on these dreams we offer. Have you ever offered a piece of yourself, lain it at the feet of someone, and wondered if it would be accepted? Have you ever looked into a person’s eyes, wished for him or her to see y

Looking Out the Window: Riding the Road / Writing Heavenward: K Dawn Byrd Talks about Her New Devotional Book, Lessons from the Open Road, and Shares a Beautiful Devotional

K. Dawn on the Screamin' Eagle V-Rod   A couple of years ago, the idea of writing a devotional about the lessons I learned while riding a motorcycle came to me. I had no idea what I was getting into and how much writing devotionals would minister to me as an author. I jotted down notes for weeks, hoping to come up with enough lessons to take the reader through a month . Lessons from the Open Road ended with 33 lessons, each followed by Scripture and prayer. My poor little bike limped home with a hole in the crankcase the size of a quarter. J-B Weld to the rescue! I'm stubborn, too stubborn to quit. After I recovered from the sore neck that resulted from my stunt, I climbed back

Looking Out the Window: Announcing a Faith-Based Facebook Page

OPENING TODAY - LIVING BY GRACE When Facebook first launched, articles saturated the web warning us of the dangers of internet relationships. Would society become more isolated? More selfish? Shallower? Would having a computer to hide behind teach us to create barriers or could the safe and constant access to others actually have a positive effect? Like most tools, the values of social networking depends on the user, but for me, a writer who spends countless hours each day shut inside my office, Facebook has provided a much needed window to the outside world. It’s allowed me to stay in contact with distant friends and has deepened many relationships I hold dear. Facebook has become a wonderful, vibrant, interactive community. What better place to launch a Christ-centered devo-group?
